Charming little home

First and foremost, Edisto Island is literally heaven on earth for us. This was our 8th vacation stay on Edisto Island, and it never disappoints. From RVing at the state park to condo and home rentals, we’ve truly enjoyed our time here. The Corner Pocket delivered another memorable stay. We had last minute Memorial Day travel vacation days open up for us and were fortunate to find this rental home available. The location is priced right as was a bit concerning be so close to the fire department and public works facilities. The fire department had a couple of callouts, and not once did they run their sirens, so don’t worry they’re super quiet. The Corner Pocket was clean and had absolutely everything you’d need for a relaxing stay. It was a quick and easy walking distance to the beach, we took full advantage of the incredible weather we had during our stay. Great launching pad to explore Edisto Island, the Corner Pocket is absolutely perfect.

Eight trips to Edisto Island - now that is a love story we are so proud to be a part of! From the state park to condos to home rentals, you have truly experienced Edisto in all its glory, and we are so glad Corner Pocket got to be part of your journey this time around. We love that a last-minute Memorial Day opening brought you through our doors, and it sounds like the stars aligned - great weather, a clean and well-equipped home, an easy walk to the beach, and even a considerate fire department next door! Your insider tip about the sirens is genuinely helpful for future guests, and we appreciate you sharing it with such good humor. Edisto Island is indeed heaven on earth, and we could not agree more. We hope Corner Pocket will be waiting for you on visit number nine!

Good

Nice cottage! A bit musty from being closed up perhaps? Screens would have been nice but the warm weather was probably unexpected. Nice walk to the beach! We had a great time. Thank you.

Thank you, Polly! We are glad you had a great time and enjoyed the walk to the beach. We appreciate your feedback and will keep an eye on ventilation and air circulation to keep Corner Pocket feeling fresh. Hope to welcome you back to Edisto again!

Wonderful Fenced Yard!

The yard at The Corner Pocket is wonderful! Because we were there in February, there was a lot of tree debris on the ground, but we just piled it up, so no problem. It is a noisy location - everyday. Just know that and go with the attitude that the yard makes it worth it. The location is very convenient to the beach. It's an easy and pleasant stroll to access 25. Some improvements could be made to the furniture, but we enjoyed our two plus weeks in the house. Carolina One was beyond helpful and accommodating for the issue we had with the washing machine. I can't praise them enough.

Nice Little House

Corner Pocket is a nice little house, it is good for a family of four or four adults. The location is not real desirable because of the noise from the sanitation department and the city offices. The fenced yard for pet is really nice. The kitchen could use a few more "gadgets" to make cooking and preparing meals easier. The furniture could use an update, it is very uncomfortable. We had a nice time, despite the little discrepancies. I would recommend a screen door for the back especially in the fall when the fresh air can flow in. Carolina One is a good agency to work with.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Corner Pocket. We’re glad to hear the home provided a comfortable stay overall and that the fenced yard and pet-friendly setup were highlights. We appreciate your thoughtful suggestions regarding kitchen items, furniture updates, and a screen door—feedback like yours is incredibly helpful. We will be sharing all of this with the homeowners, who are always open to enhancements that improve future guest experiences. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Edisto soon.

I'll Be Back

The fenced in yard for the dog was great, it is fenced in completely so that you can open the back door and let the dog go down the stairs and out into the yard. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching traffic (more golf carts, joggers, and cyclists than cars). I saw deer twice run from under/behind the house to across the road. I only heard noise from the recycling place around 7am most days when I was awake. It was not loud enough to wake me up if I was still asleep and was not a problem for me any other time. I drove to the beach because I like the accesses on the end, but I estimate it’s about a 3 block walk to the beach access directly across from the road the house is on. I will definitely be back. A couple ideas for improvement would be a couch in the living room (currently only love seats) and the recliner doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. When you recline, it actually angles forward with your feet hanging down. The shower is pretty small and hard to use without the shower curtain sticking to you, one of those curved rods may help with that.

Dear Brittany,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re glad to hear that the fenced yard worked well for your dog, and that you enjoyed relaxing on the porch and spotting some wildlife during your stay at Corner Pocket on Edisto Beach. It’s great to know the noise from the recycling center didn’t disturb your mornings and that you found the location convenient for trips to the beach.

We appreciate your thoughtful suggestions regarding the living room seating and the shower. We’ll be sure to pass those along to the homeowner as we work to keep improving the property. We hope to have you back again soon!

Corner Pocket

Loved all the palms Facilities were fine Close to the beach Kitchen roomy and clean Bad: and I can't suggest any non-chemical ways to deal this: mosquitoes were everywhere in the back yard.

Perfect for Us

This house is older, smaller and perfect for us! We are not into glamour and new. We like the feel of a bygone era and the Corner Pocket provides that for us. We have been here for several years, it's a short walk or golf cart ride to beach accesses and lots of activity with the police and fire stations plus the recycling area. There's still lots of wildlife although the numbers have dwindled due to development. If you are like us and want the slow pace of Edisto in a quaint cottage, then the Corner Pocket is the place to stay!

We forgot to write in the book…so glad you reached out! We loved our stay at corner pocket…it was absolutely perfect for us! The screened in front porch and the giant back yard for our dog were stellar! The couple of minute walk to the beach…awesome! Perfect house and beach location! The vibe of the island …can’t beat!
