Isle of Palms & Wild Dunes Beach Renourishment Project 2026
What is Beach Renourishment?
The City of Isle of Palms has approved a beach nourishment project to help protect and enhance the shoreline, with work anticipated to occur between summer and fall 2026.
This project is vital to our coastal preservation and protects local wildlife, including sea turtles and their nesting areas.
What is the Timeline?
At this time, the contractor has not released a finalized schedule. Current projections suggest the project may begin in July and will move along down the beach in phases.
We are closely monitoring updates from the City and will share timely information with guests as soon as a confirmed schedule becomes available.
How Could this Affect My Stay?
During active construction in a specific area, guests may notice temporary equipment, piping, and limited beach access directly in front of that section. These impacts are typically brief, as work progresses steadily along the shoreline.
Importantly, many areas of the island will not be affected simultaneously, and beach access will remain available outside of active work zones.
We are closely monitoring updates from the City and will share timely information with guests as soon as a confirmed schedule becomes available.
