Be sure to check out the Turtle Tide Art Project Live Auction at 2:30 p.m., where they will be auctioning off ten turtles that have been beautifully decorated! The festival will be on Jungle Road just in front of Palmetto Plaza.

Savor the Flavor at the 4^th Annual Cookin’ on the Creek BBQ Festival

If you’re a barbecue enthusiast looking for a mouthwatering fall event, the 4^th Annual Cookin’ on the Creek BBQ Festival is a must-attend celebration. This festival is being held at Bay Creek Park on Friday, October 13^th, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14^th, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday will include music from Cody Webb and his band with a bit of BBQ sampling. Saturday will have more food sampling and live music. There will be an admission fee to this festival of $5 per person on Friday. You can purchase food & drink tickets for $1 each. Whether you’re a seasoned BBQ judge or simply someone who appreciates the art of smoked meats, this festival offers an unforgettable experience.

It’s hard to believe that schools are out, and summer is upon us here on the South Carolina Coast. Summer is a great time in the Charleston area as there are so many different activities that you don’t want to miss. Morris Island Boat Tour

The whole family can connect this summer by trying out the Morris Island Boat Tour. Morris Island is full of undeveloped land that is a gem to explore. The only way to get to the island is by boat. Taking a tour will allow you and the family to soak up 3 hours of exploring the island, looking at wildlife, and checking out new shells. We can promise you that you’ll never experience another island like this one again!

Charleston Riverdogs Baseball Game

Another fun activity that the whole family can enjoy this summer is going to at least one Charleston Riverdogs Baseball game. Fun for all ages, let the kids learn the “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” song, get those delicious hotdogs, and have a good time together. If you have little ones who are big ball players, check out the camps they offer at the stadium. Think of the new memories you’ll make as you watch a ballgame or two.

Explore the SC Aquarium

Don’t miss Charleston’s Bridge Run this September

When & Where

You might be a little intrigued by this fun race in Charleston, especially if you’re an avid runner. This race is on Saturday, September 25^th, beginning at 8:00 am on Coleman Blvd in Mt. Pleasant. They will be shutting down the streets to run safely on the roads in the morning. Getting to the race is easy peasy as there will be shuttles to get you to the start line. As long as you’re wearing your bib, you can get onto one of the free shuttles.

10K Run

If you’re looking to register for the race, but you’re unsure of how long it is, then look no further. The Bridge Run will be a 10K, which is 6.2 miles, which many of us may walk daily. Another thing that you don’t want to miss is the Expo that will be on September 23^rd & September 24^th at the Charleston Area Convention Center. Here you’ll not only be able to pick up your race packet, but you’ll also be able to do a little shopping too. Please note that you will not be able to pick up your race packet on the day of the race. This is done for your safety.

Here you and the family will not only be able to have some fun hunting for Easter eggs, but you can eat brunch too. To comply with the Covid-19 Regulations, they will be following social distancing and keeping the groups small for each egg hunt. Think of the memories you as a family will make as you enjoy this fun event and eat some delicious food.

Spring Fling Market

Another great event that your family can attend this Easter weekend is the Spring Fling Market located at the James Island Town Hall in Charleston. This event is happening on Friday, April 2^nd, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and is one that you don’t want to miss. The Spring Fling Market will be held outdoors so that it can comply with the Covid-19 regulations.

Celebrate 4th of July on Your Next Vacation to Edisto

Explore Fort Sumter

One of the things that are great about vacationing in the Charleston area is the available fun things. You’re in luck because Fort Sumter has officially opened to visitors, and they are open daily. While some of the park sites inside the fort will be closed, your family will still be able to explore the fort. Fort Sumter is approximately an hour from Edisto, but we promise that this is an experience like no other.

Learn to Surf

Another fun activity that your family can do together this 4^th of July is learning to surf. Edisto Beach surf lessons are available and are suitable for all ages. They do offer a weeklong class for your family or kids to enjoy. In these lessons, you will learn how to ride your first wave to learning how to stand up on the surfboard. Think of the new memories that your family will make while learning to surf together.

Shelling Excursion

Do you have someone in the family who loves to collect shells? If you do, then why not schedule a Shelling Excursion with the family. On the day you do this excursion, you will be able to head over to Otter Island, which happens to be a family favorite. Please note that this fun adventure will take place only during low tide. Make sure to bring your own water (for drinking), towels, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Also don’t forget to bring your phone, camera, and binoculars. What a fantastic way to spend the day with your family on this excursion!

Visit the Charleston Tea Plant

You can go to the only tea garden in North America and enjoy a free tour of the factory at Carolina Tea Plantation. Learning how the tea is made to having the opportunity to look at the whole process is something fun for every family. After you finish up the tour, you will be able to sample several different flavors of tea in their gift shop. What a great activity that your whole family will enjoy and learn a thing or two as well!

Waterfront Park

Another great location that your family can visit while you’re on vacation to Charleston is visiting Waterfront Park. Here you and the family will be able to see the pineapple fountain that may remind you of a particular cartoon character but more elegant. Swing on the pier while you are spotting dolphins in the water nearby. The views at this park are absolutely breathtaking and can be a great location to let the kids enjoy some fresh air. Visit the Angel Oak Tree

Charleston is known for having a lot of history, and the Angel Oak is one you can’t miss. You and your family will be able to take a drive to visit the 1500-year-old Angel Oak, which has been reported to be the oldest living structure on the east coast. This tree is located on Johns Island but is only a short drive away. Take pictures of the tree and marvel in all its beauty and structure!
