Can you believe that Christmas will be here in just a few short weeks? We can’t believe how fast 2022 has flown by, but we still have another month before 2023 will be here. The holiday season is a favorite for many of our guests to come and stay in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals. Look below at what three events you can miss this December here on the Charleston coast.
Holiday Festival of Lights
The Holiday Festival of Lights happens yearly at James Island County Park. This park is close to both Charleston and Folly Beach. The Festival of Lights is open daily from 5:30 pm until 10:00 pm until December 31st, 2022. Some fun things you can do there are visiting Santa’s Village, where you can meet Santa Claus himself, enjoy a winter wonderland or enjoy the Palmetto’s workshop. Think of the new memories you and your family will make while visiting this fantastic event this holiday season.
Holiday Street Festival
Join the annual holiday festival in Isle of Palms for the Holiday Street Festival on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022. This event will include the tree lighting ceremony, live entertainment, crafts, delicious food, and more. There will even be a visit from Santa and plenty of activities for the kids. This event is free to attend and will be held from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Come prepared to enjoy a little holiday cheer on the Isle of Palms this year.
27th Annual Christmas Light Parade
Look no further if you’re looking for something a little more like a Christmas parade. On Sunday, December 11th, from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm, the Mount Pleasant Christmas Parade will be happening. This parade starts with a bang with an impressive fireworks show followed by the parade. You’ll see lit-up floats and different groups brightly as they march down the streets. What an incredible experience to see, and it may become one of your favorites in the area.
While plenty of other events are happening this December, we wanted to share these with you. Give us a call if you haven’t booked your next stay with us at Carolina One vacation rentals. We hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
Are you and your family looking to do something a little different this year for the holidays? If the answer is yes, let us share a few reasons you should visit this year. Staying in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals will keep you and your family close to the fun. See below why you should spend your holidays with us on the South Carolina Coast.
Plenty of Space
A big reason for spending the holidays this year in one of our vacation rentals is getting to bring the whole family. Depending on the size of your family will be a significant factor in what size home you’d need to stay in. We have homes perfect for a family of four and some that can sleep up to 20 people. With the size of the house comes the guarantee that you won’t be hearing arguments about who sleeps where and who is hogging the bathroom every morning. There will be plenty for everyone to have their own space. We can promise you that you’ll hear more arguments about leaving to go home than wanting to come back to the area year after year.
Another great reason for spending the holidays here on the coast is the large kitchens in our vacation rentals. No need to worry about prepping food to bring on vacation when you can prepare your holiday food in your rental. Bake a few dozen cookies with the kids and let them decorate them. Start a new tradition this year to cook Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner in your rental rather than going out to eat. No matter how big your family is this holiday season, we can promise you’ll have plenty of space in your rental to cook any sized meal for any family gathering!
There are many other reasons why spending the holidays on the Coast of South Carolina, but we wanted to share these with you. If you haven’t booked your next vacation to stay with us at Carolina One vacation rentals, now is the time. We can’t wait to hear which holiday vacation rental was your family’s favorite this year!
Do you have a family vacation planned to the Charleston area in October? Let us share with you a few events that are happening near the area if you do. Staying with us at Carolina One vacation rentals will keep you and your family close to the fun. Let’s look at some of the events that are happening this October you don’t want to miss.
Edisto Beach Fall Festival
Join the Edisto Fall Festival & Turtle Tide Art Auction on Saturday, October 15th, beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm. This year’s fall festival will be a street fair in front of the Jungle Rd Plaza that will feature over 50 vendors. Some vendors will include arts & crafts, clothing, food, and more. From 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, listen to some live music in the lot between the Jungle Road Plaza and Food Lion with Edisto Gumbo. Around 2:30 pm is when the Turtle Tide Art Project Live Auction will be held. This is where you’ll see the ten turtles, including “Myrtle,” who we’ve sponsored, being auctioned off to benefit local non-profits! This is one event that you don’t want to miss this year!
Boone Hall Plantation Pumpkin Patch
For many families, fall isn’t the same without having at least one trip to the local pumpkin patch. This year instead of going to one at home, why not give our local one at Boone Hall Plantation a try? Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during October, you and your family can come and enjoy some great things at Boone Hall Plantation. From taking that famous Halloween Tractor Tour to playing in the Corn Maze, there is something for everyone in the family. Admission to the Pumpkin Patch is $15 per person ages 3 & up and free to any child ages two and under. Be sure to check out bringing a pumpkin or two home as your souvenir this year from the beach.
Another great event this October is the Halloween Carnival on the Isle of Palms. Join us on Saturday, October 29th, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm, where you and the family can watch the golf cart parade through town starting on 27th Street and ending on 28th Street. After the Halloween Golf Cart Parade, head to the Playgrounds where the carnival will be. Here you’ll be able to drive through the haunted house, play on the inflatables, check out some local food vendors, and more. Plus, there will be trick-or-treating bags for all kids! What a fun event to check out on your next vacation to Isle of Palms.
Many other fun events are happening along the South Carolina Coast, but we wanted to share these with you. Now is the time if you haven’t booked your next stay with us at Carolina One vacation rentals. We can’t wait to hear which event was your favorite this October!
It’s hard to believe that Christmas is just a few short days away, and soon New Year’s Eve will be here. The first half of the year seemed to go by so slow, yet the second half of the year flew by so quickly. Instead of ringing in the new year at home, spend it with us in one of our Folly Beach vacation rentals this year. Let’s look below at where you and your family can head to this New Year’s Eve to catch a glimpse of the fun to ring in 2022.
Folly Beach Flip-Flop Drop
Folly Beach is an excellent start to ring in the new year, especially if you’re staying in one of our vacation rentals. This year we are excited to share with you that the Flip-Flop Drop will be returning after it went virtual last year. Beginning at 10:00 pm, Center Street on Folly Beach will close to traffic so people can gather to watch the flops drop. There will be many local businesses staying open later than usual so that you can grab a bite to eat and something to drink as you sit back and wait. Don’t miss this fun and exciting New Year’s Eve on Folly Beach.
Charleston Holiday Festival of Lights
Another excellent opportunity to take the kids out one last time to see the Charleston Holiday Festival of Lights is New Year’s Eve. While they are open nightly from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Dec. 31st will be the year’s last opportunity. The Holiday Festival of Lights is over at the James Island County Park in Charleston. Admission to see the Festival of Lights will vary depending on which night you see them and how large your vehicle is. This is one fun night that everyone in the family will enjoy on your next trip to the South Carolina Coast.
Celebrate at Your Vacation Rental
We couldn’t leave out the chance to be able to ring in the new year at your vacation rental. Staying in and celebrating with the family as you make fun finger foods, a charcuterie board, and fun crafts are just as fun. Sit down and watch the giant ball drop in New York City together. No matter what you’re doing, spending time together as a family is just what you may need this New Year’s Eve.
Several other fun events are happening along the Charleston coast, but we wanted to share these few with you. If you haven’t booked your next stay with us in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals, give us a shout. We hope you and your family have a Happy Holiday and New Year’s!
It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks from now, it will be Thanksgiving. At the same time, many families love to take a tropical vacation to celebrate the festive holiday, many flocks to our area. Instead of hopping on a plane that might take hours to get to, including lengthy layovers, stay in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals with the family. We have many different options for every family, and why not start a new tradition this year by enjoying your vacation rental with a large kitchen to cook in. Let’s look below at how you and your family can enjoy Thanksgiving together on the South Carolina Coast.
One of the best things about spending Thanksgiving on the South Carolina Coast is getting to bring the whole family along with you. Instead of seeing whose house you’re going to have Thanksgiving dinner at this year, head on down and take advantage of one of our vacation rentals with a large kitchen. Let each family member do something to help out with dinner as you all gather and watch the Macy’s Day Parade together while the turkey is cooking in the oven. Think of the memories that you’ll be able to make this Thanksgiving together on the South Carolina Coast.
Plenty of Space
Another reason for spending Thanksgiving this year in one of our vacation rentals is to invite the whole family. Whether you have two people or 20 people in your family, we have the homes with the space. We have homes that will offer your family plenty of bedrooms, and there will be no fighting over sharing the bathroom. The only arguments that you may hear from your family are picking the best bedroom in the house and having to leave to go back home. We promise you will want to come back to the Charleston area next year and years to go after this year.
Black Friday Shopping
The Charleston area is the perfect place to be able to get out and explore on Black Friday. While many of the stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, you will still have plenty of options on Black Friday. Be sure to head to a grocery store or a convenience store to grab a local newspaper. This is where you’ll find all of the suitable ads to see which store you want to hit up first. Don’t worry about the kids as they will have plenty of space and things to do at your home with the ones who don’t want to shop.
While there are many other reasons why you should spend Thanksgiving here on the South Carolina coast, we wanted to share these with you. If you haven’t booked your Carolina One vacation rental yet, give us a call today. We can’t wait to see you and your family as you celebrate Thanksgiving with each other in our homes on the coast of South Carolina!

Let’s look below at how you and your family can enjoy your time before school gets back in session.
Charleston Water Week
Kicking off Labor Day weekend is the Charleston Water Week, which runs from September 4th and ends on September 12th. Now is the perfect time to start planning for your Labor Day vacation with the family to kick off the end of the summer together. Staying in one of our Carolina One vacation rentals will allow you and your family to stay close to the fun. Let’s look below why you should plan your vacation to the Charleston area for Labor Day weekend today.
Spend the Day on the Sand
One of the best things about spending your Labor Day vacation is being able to take advantage of the low crowds on the beaches. This year let the kids build enormous sandcastles and let the teens play catch the frisbee. There is something for everyone to do and enjoy a day at the beach. Don’t forget to bring the essentials with you on the beach, such as a beach umbrella, towels, sunscreen, a book to read, and the toys for the kids. Relaxing and spending time together is just what every beach vacation should be about.
Try a New Restaurant
Vacations are the best when it comes to not feeling like cooking for the family in your vacation rental. This year take the family out to a new restaurant that may have just opened or just trying one you’ve never eaten at before. If your family likes seafood, then give The Kingstide a try on Daniel Island. They have a classic raw bar that includes oysters and stone crab claws, and they offer the classics such as lobster rolls and even a steak. Many new restaurants are opening up this summer and fall that you will try maybe a few on your vacation.
While there are many other fun things that you can do this Labor Day this year, we wanted to share these few with you. If you haven’t booked your Labor Day vacation yet, now is the time. We don’t want you and your family to miss out on a great vacation to end the summer and begin a great school year!

The Flip Flop Drop
This year’s annual Flip Flop Drop-in Folly Beach will look a little different compared to previous years. Instead of heading down to Center Street, where it has been held for many years, you and your family will be able to watch it virtually from your vacation rental. Cook up some delicious steaks or seafood at your vacation rental, make up some charcuterie boards and enjoy a few glasses of wine while you sit and wait for the Flip Flop to drop. Once the clock strikes midnight, then it will be time to watch them fall from the firetruck as it has for many years!

We know that 2020 seemed to bring out the best in ourselves, and we may have all started our New Year’s resolutions a little later in the year. Be sure to register today to get your packets in time for your fun run, and have a blast doing so. There is also a free option if you don’t want the fun swag that goes along with the run, which can be a good option for families.
